Local Attractions
Just over 1 hour's drive from Adelaide, situated in the historic
precinct of
Port Elliot, and close to many old buildings, Trafalgar House is a
three-minute walk from beautiful and safe Horseshoe Bay, and from surfing at
Boomer Beach. With shops, restaurants, cafes, a fantastic bakery, hotels,
tennis courts, croquet and bowling green all within easy walking distance, and
with an adjacent cliff walk and bicycle track, Trafalgar House is in the
perfect holiday position. An added winter attraction is the whales and sea
lions which frequent the area from June to September.
![]() Port Elliot is a small township with a history going back to the days of sailing ships. The first railway in Australia, the Cockle Train, which runs between Victor Harbor and Goolwa, is within a minute from Trafalgar House. Ideal for families and for those wishing to be a short distance away from the bustle of larger places, Port Elliot is only a 10 minute drive to Victor Harbor with its many shops, restaurants, cinemas and walks to Granite Island. And it is only a little further to the historic river port of Goolwa.
![]() We are able to advise about local attractions and activities, and to suggest and book tours etc. Written suggestions are regularly updated through our Guest Compendium.
